Research Context

Tesamorelin activates GHRHR through Gαs-coupled adenylyl cyclase stimulation, leading to cAMP/PKA-mediated phosphorylation of CREB in anterior pituitary somatotroph cell models. Its N-terminal modification has been characterized in published research as a way to confer DPP-IV protease resistance, which makes it a longer-acting GHRHR agonist than native GHRH(1-44) in cell culture and a useful probe for receptor occupancy studies and structure-activity comparisons of modified GHRH analogs.
